What's New in 2024?

The 2024 Volvo XC60 no longer has a front-wheel-drive version — it's now all-wheel drive all the time. A black exterior paint color was swapped out with an elegant gray option. The Plus and Ultimate trims both come standard with an air purifier now. 

The Ultimate trim gets a few more extra options, which is only to be expected. A new Black Edition package can be ordered for this top-of-the-line model. It includes unusual 21-inch wheels, blacked-out exterior trim, and stunning Onyx Black paint.

The legroom is 41.5 inches in the front and 38 inches in the back. The front row has 56.4 inches of hip room, and the back seats have slightly less hip room at 55.4 inches.

Safety Tech

Volvo has a range of safety features that can help prevent a crash or at least mitigate its impact.

Collision Avoidance

Installed intelligent systems can help you avoid or mitigate collisions with pedestrians, cyclists, or other vehicles using visual, audible, and brake pulsing warnings. If the system determines that a collision is imminent, it can automatically apply your vehicle's brakes. 

Lane-Keeping Aid

When the system sensors determine that you're about to leave your lane without using the car's turn indicator, your car can be gently steered back into your lane. If necessary, you'll also be alerted through vibrations in your steering wheel.

Run-Off Road Mitigation

The same principles apply when you cross an outer lane marking while driving between 40 mph and 87 mph. The system will help safely steer your vehicle back onto the road and into a lane. Your brakes may also be activated during that process to help you stay on the road.

Cross-Traffic Alert With Automatic Braking

When you're backing out of a parking spot, this system will warn you of approaching vehicles and may automatically apply your brakes to prevent an imminent collision.

Blind Spot Information System

If a vehicle approaches rapidly in one of the lanes on either side of your car or enters one of your blind spots, Volvo's Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) will alert you with a light that's positioned in one of your door mirrors, then gently steer your car back into its lane.

Rear Cross-Traffic Alert 

Volvo pairs its BLIS system with this feature. It's automatically activated when you shift your vehicle into reverse, monitoring the area behind you for vehicles approaching from your left or right. You will receive an auditory or visual warning if a vehicle enters the system's detection area.

Surround-View Camera

Four high-definition cameras built into your 2024 XC60 Recharge will give you a 360-degree view from above so you can ensure there's nothing in any confined spaces before you enter or exit them.

Slippery Road Alert

This is a feature you don't often see in other vehicles. It's a system designed to prevent loss of traction and wheel spin, particularly in the most slippery conditions, such as ice, snow, or rain. When this system detects the loss of traction, it automatically applies the brakes to one or more of your wheels, making it easier to regain traction and control.
